Welcome to illustrares, the Illustrative Visual Computing research group in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Calgary. Led by Professor Mario Costa Sousa, the illustrares group studies fundamental and applied visual computing research, addressing challenges in Science, Engineering, Art/Design, and related domains. One of our focal points is the ongoing investigation and development of novel expressive visual computing paradigms and software tools within a framework of five interrelated research themes, allowing users from multi-disciplines to build, visualize, and analyze models more intuitively and with new insights into exploring their uncertainties.
